Posted Oct 16, 2024

Designing the perfect itinerary for each of our clients, so they can fully experience everything that makes Colombia such a fantastic vacation destination, is always a joy for us. Beyond the warm hospitality, delicious food, and fascinating history, we encourage our travelers to immerse themselves in the culture and interact with local communities in meaningful, sustainable ways.

Bogotá: It is positioned high in the Andes at 2,640 meters, with cool temperatures (between 10°C and 20°C). There is modern side of the city, but wondering through La Candelaria, the city’s charming historic center you´ll find colonial buildings and streets that invite you to step back in time. Monserrate Mountain offers the best views that stretch across the entire city, by cable car or if you decide to hike the journey is always worth it. Bogotá is traditional and the contemporary, with events like the Bogotá International Book Fair and Rock al Parque music festival, which bring the city to life. And when feeling like taking a bite, the city's food scene won’t disappoint. A bowl of ajiaco is a must-try local option or explore the gastronomic delights in areas like Zona G and Usaquén.

Medellín: The city of Eternal Spring. It's not just the beautiful weather that earned Medellín its nickname, but the the welcoming vibe of its people. Known for its transformation, everywhere you go there is music and colorful graffiti, telling stories of hope and progress. If you visit la Comuna 13 to see how art has revitalized the community, it´s a very enjoyable walk.

Cartagena´s old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, features cobblestone streets, and centuries-old fortresses with plazas, local markets, and beautiful beaches.

Dance to the beat in Cali and Barranquilla: In Colombia, dance is a way of life. Cali, the salsa capital of the world, is alive with music and energy, and you can feel the rhythm everywhere. Barranquilla’s Carnival, the second largest in the world, is a dazzling explosion of color and culture.

Best time to visit.

March through December are packed with events that make visiting even more special. The Barranquilla Carnival, one of Colombia's most exciting cultural celebrations, takes over the city the weekend before Ash Wednesday each year, usually falling in February or March. If you're into books and art, don't miss the Hay Festival at the end of January, which brings authors, artists, and journalists to Cartagena, Medellín, and the charming Andean town of Jericó for inspiring talks and discussions. The sunnier days from June to September are also a great time to visit, especially with the Medellín Flower Festival kicking off in early August, filling the city with stunning displays and a festive atmosphere.
